The primary survey of the victim is performed by checking the ABCs.  When performing the steps outlined below, we perform a check the condition of human's two most vital systems - respiratory and circulatory systems.

Airway - Does the person have an open airway?

Breathing - Is the victim breathing?

Circulation - Is the victim's heart beating or does the victim have a pulse?
